WordPress backup

WordPress backup:
the safety copy that
actually works when you need it

A backup you have never tested is not a backup — it is a hope. We take external cloud copies before every update and regularly verify that restoring really works. So that when you need it, it works.

WordPress backup — cloud safety copies with verified restores

How we back up

Backups done properly,
not ticked off for show

01

Off-site, not on the hosting

Backups live in the cloud, separate from the server. If the server goes down or is compromised, the backup is safe.

02

Files plus the database

We save everything that matters: the website files and the complete database, so a restore is total.

03

Before every update

We take a fresh copy before any update. If the update breaks something, we roll back in minutes.

04

Verified restores

A backup you have never tested is just an assumption. We regularly verify that restoring actually works.

05

Frequency per plan

From 4 database copies a month (Basic) up to 30 a month (Business and Pro Woo), depending on how often the site changes.

06

A fast restore when it counts

In an emergency, what matters is how quickly you get back online. The process is prepared, not improvised.

Doesn't my host already back up my site?
Usually yes, but with limits: it sits on the same server (if the server is compromised, so is the backup), it is overwritten quickly and it is rarely tested. An external, independent and verified backup is your real safety net.
How often do you back up?
It depends on the plan and on how often the site changes: from 4 databases a month on Basic up to 30 a month on Business and Pro Woo, plus a full copy before every update.
What exactly do you save?
The website files (theme, modules, media) and the complete database (content, settings, orders for stores). In practice, everything needed for a full restore.
How long does a restore take?
For a brochure website, usually under an hour. For online stores it depends on the size. Importantly: because we test restores, we do not discover surprises in the middle of a crisis.
Where are the backups stored?
In external cloud storage, separate from the website server (for example dedicated storage or a service such as Google Drive/Dropbox). The idea is simple: if the website server goes down or is compromised, the backup stays intact and accessible.
How many copies do you keep?
We keep several recent versions (rotation), so you can roll back not just to yesterday but to a state from a few days ago — useful if a problem is discovered later. The number of copies depends on the plan and on how often the site changes.
Can I get a copy of the backup myself?
Yes, on request we can provide a downloadable copy of the site (files plus database). It is your website — the data belongs to you.
What is the 3-2-1 backup rule?
It is the industry standard: 3 copies of your data, on 2 different types of media, with 1 stored in another location (off-site). That is essentially what we do: the live copy plus a verified external backup, so that a single failure or a single attack cannot wipe out everything.
Does the backup include store orders and customers?
Yes. For WooCommerce stores the backup covers the complete database — orders, customers, products, settings — plus the files. That way you can rebuild the entire store, not just part of it. See also WooCommerce maintenance.
